 Westin Hotel & Residences, Providence, RIThis 290,000 sf, 33-story building consists of six stories of garage, nine stories of hotel, 17 stories of condominiums, and a mechanical penthouse. The building is currently the third tallest in the state of Rhode Island. Harry Grodsky & Co., Inc. performed all mechanical work on this project. This was a very fast paced job, with approximately 12 days to rough and test each floor and working on multiple floors at any one time. This, in addition to a lack of space on the job site to be used for material storage and laydown, created some unique challenges for the team. HG's expertise at coordination, ability to prefabricate and provide just-in-time deliveries, and the expertise and diligence of our field staff were all instrumental in the success of the project and our ability to meet, or in most cases beat, all scheduled turnover dates. |
