B118 Steam Upgrade at Pfizer, Inc., Groton, CT
Harry Grodsky & Co., Inc. has been working at Pfizer for over a quarter of a century. We've worked in or constructed over 25 buildings on their two campuses, installed over 20,000 linear feet of underground steam and condensate piping, and more than twice that in above-ground pipe racks. We currently perform roughly 50 projects per year for Pfizer of various sizes.

Steam projects at Pfizer require more detailed coordination of every day activities than normal due to their high profile, and campus-wide impact. The B118 Steam Upgrade project involved major underground work in double containment pipe in winter, where weather impacted many aspects of the trench work and outdoor temperature dictated when steam and chilled water shut downs could be done. The high quality and ingenuity of our welders and foremen, and our detailed involvement in all aspects of the work, were critical factors in the success of the project and the entire project team has been brought back for more steam and laboratory renovation projects.
