Pfizer Inc., B160 Gas Turbine, Groton, CT
Harry Grodsky & Co., Inc. was recently part of the Pfizer Gas Turbine Project Team on the Groton West Campus and installed a Cogeneration system in a new 12,000 sf building. The combustion turbine and heat recovery steam generator (CTG/HRSG) consists of a 10 MW Dual Fuel Turbine in combination with a single pressure boiler unit. This boiler supplies up to 109,000 pounds of superheated steam per hour at 600 psig and 750 degrees, which is exported to three existing steam turbines capable of producing an additional 20.5 MW of power. Excess steam is also reduced in pressure and fed into the plant's 50 lb steam system and utilized in heating, cooling, hot water production, and miscellaneous other applications.

Harry Grodsky & Co., Inc. manned the job in mid December of 2009 and began hydro testing of the heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) the first week of May 2010, under budget and ahead of schedule
